A DISPLAY OF JENNIFER JACLYN FOUNDS PHOTOGRAPHY FROM HER HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

Written in august.

Go meet a girl who's five years
my elder
Who's not half your age
but half a mind.
Who wears glasses no to read
but so she wont bump into
stuff.
Tour the world
with the brothers you hate.
With gooey eyed girls
with no dignity left
who have never heard of
Kafka, Kubrick, or Marx.
I'll laugh and cry and
spit at the sound of your
stories and laugh at
the desperate longing
for something
real.
This will be painful
and entertaining.
And soon you'll see that
the past was gold.
Afraid of loosing something
because of the one thing
that made it worth while.
Then ignoring the bliss
and falling out of love
with your day job.

What a joke.
Let me vent to you for old
times sake and we'll
see who calls the officials.
Me? They wouldn't believe
a ghost. You? You'd never
trust yourself. Them?
Sure, they'll barge in
on the salt water parade
and step backwards
due to the stream.

L'America è terribile!

I feel so alive here.
Pinning back my hair,
climbing mountains,
bargaining,
eating octopus,
walking until my ankles hurt,
among many other things.

I mean, today I saw the original 'Birth of Venus' and almost cried.
Life is beautiful.
